About me...

Hello! My name is Christy and I'm new to blogging!

I'm based in West Texas where I live with my Canadian husband and our 3 year old daughter.

I grew up in Upstate New York and my husband is from rural New Brunswick.

We both attended St. Lawrence University where we eventually met.

-

After finishing my B.S. in Biology, I worked for Dartmouth College as a technician in a Neuroscience lab, living between Vermont and New Hampshire.

-

My husband played professional hockey in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for almost 2 years.

During this time I decided to go back to school and got my M.S. in Wellness and Nutrition from the University of Kentucky.

-

In 2012 I graduated from UK and my husband 'retired' from hockey to start a career in Northern Alberta.

I followed him and we lived there the past 8 years, where I had a variety of jobs.

Most of my time there was spent working in honey bee research between the Government of Canada (AAFC) and the National Bee Diagnostic Centre.

-

At the end of 2019, we decided to move back to the US where we both had job opportunities in West Texas.

I currently work for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension providing nutrition and wellness programs for low income families!

-

As I start this blog, life is very different right now due to COVID-19. I'm looking forward to traveling unrestricted again!

About The Blog...

One of my favorite places in texas, so far: Davis mountains

We have always loved to travel.

Travel is much different now as a parent, but one of the goals of this blog is to show others that you can still travel with a family!

-

As a new resident of Texas, I'm in awe of the extreme range of experiences you can find within the state.

There is desert in the West, ocean water to the South East, vineyards in Hill Country - the places to explore seem endless!

-

Food is another passion of ours.

This includes both finding recipes to make at home and dining out at local restaurants.

Again, being new to Texas, I am loving the

Mexican and Cajun influences in the local cuisine.

This is something I had never experienced before!

-

The name of the blog, Living for Three signifies these three passions of mine: travel, family + food.

It is also a nod to the fact that we travel as a family of three.

-

So stay tuned for the latest here on my travel, family + food

as I'm 'living for three'.

Cheers!

Christy
